We have introduced a new yurt design called the "Fortress". The “Fortress” Yurt design is

the first solid wall, portable Yurt design ever made! The windows are 3 ft x 5 ft real glass therma Pella windows with screens, and the interior walls are a beautiful laminated wood that is secured to the inside lattice wall. This design creates a beautiful interior space, and a gorgeous Yurt from the outside. People have been asking for an affordable Yurt design with this security that is still portable. STANDARD FEATURES:

LATTICE WALLS:

Kiln Dried MSR* lumber cut 1" x 1 1/2". This detail is very important, as this is much sturdier than most yurts being sold today. Many of our customers do not feel the need to purchase the additional snow load kit because our standard walls are very strong. All of our Fortress Yurt walls are 7 ft 2 inches high. This is an option with most other yurt companies.

RAFTERS:

Kiln Dried MSR* lumber which is planed, sanded, and finished with a professional wood oil. Hardened steel pins are used which fit into holes in the yurt compression ring. All points of stress are re-enforced. Metal brackets are included, which keep the rafters in place during high winds and storm conditions.

*MSR lumber is top quality lumber that has been Machine Stress Rated. That’s right. Every piece has been tested for strength! Please ask if you would like more information about this highest quality lumber.

CROWN (Compression Ring):

Laminated kiln dired MSR lumber compression ring. We make ours very stocky for exceptional strength. It is finished with a durable wood oil and is both glued and bolted together.

DOOR AND FRAME:

Beautiful solid wood door with frame. All wood is finished with a professional wood oil. Includes hinges and quality lockset.

DOME:

Durable, low maintenance clear acrylic dome.

TENSION CABLE:

Aircraft quality steel, 5,600 lb. breaking strength.

WINDOWS:

Two 3 ft x 5 ft thermal glass Pella windows are included in standard yurt price. Extra windows are optional.

ROOF VINYL:

Standard roof cover comes with an eight year warranty. This flame retardant vinyl provides excellent durability, low maintenance, and total protection from the elements. Roof vinyl upgrade is available.

OUTSIDE WALL COVER:

Standard wall cover is a heavy flame retardant poly canvas that provides exceptional strength, durability and low maintenance. Eight year warranty on canvas walls. Wall canvas upgrade is available.

Also included are instructions for setting up your yurt, and personal consultations to help with set up.

Other options are available, such as an extra door, French door, extra windows, door awning, dome opener with telescoping rod, woodstove flashing, insulation kit, wind kit, and snow load kit, perimeter gutter system. These extras and shipping are priced separately.

Polyester Canvas, water repellent and fire retardant (12 year warranty): This heavier canvas is often chosen when a customer is not insulating their Yurt to create a heftier wall barrier. Color options are: gold, off white, terra cotta, burgundy, emerald green, and chestnut.

2 x 4 upright supports that are attached to the bottom end of each roof rafter, and also attached to the Yurt floor. These supports are planed, sanded, and stained to match the rest of the wood in your Yurt framework. (Because our lattice walls are so hefty, many people do not feel that these supports are necessary. We do recommend them in areas of heavy snowfall.)
